Woodlawn Ave.
This project is boasting with natural wood elements, stones and textures. After meeting the clients, I knew their love for nature and the outdoors needed to encompass this home from the inside, out. We wrapped up this project in early 2019 just before the world shut down! So we decided to wait an entire year before I got to go see the complete final product. (Which is always so hard for me, but it was well worth the wait!) My clients had time to get fully settled and I got honest feedback about their home, which was just so sweet! Happy clients are what keep me doing this time and time again.
The clients love the outdoors and spend a lot of time outside. She is a Master Gardener, a skill I hope to learn one day! Their lot is beautifully natural and it sits right on the river that runs through town. We chose a deep green with a bronze trim for the exterior and cedar accents to make the home feel like it was a part of its natural surroundings.
Inside, you are welcomed with a vaulted foyer and living space with natural wood beams, flooring and mantel. You also get a view of the kitchen with the open concept. There you see natural wood floating shelves, grounding colors and mixed metals for added texture. With these elements as the canvas, adding greenery, furniture and fabrics brings the space to life.
As you move through the home, you see the same design elements used throughout to create a cohesive design. Natural tones, woods, stones, and even pops of color as they naturally occur in nature as well! We also intentionally incorporated a lot of windows and full glass doors along the back of the home for the clients to have a view of the outdoors from almost every room. I wanted my clients to have a sense of the outdoors even when inside the walls of their home.
